The Bruce Kapp Memorial Animal Fund was founded to honor a man who could never walk away from an animal or a person in need. It is our mission to raise funds for the welfare of any animal and respond to the need to limit the rampant overpopulation of cats and dogs in many communities.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We have no paid employees and administrative expenses are held to a minimum so that more than 96 percent of donations go directly to spay/neuter and other veterinary services. Since our founding in 2008, BKMAF has provided financial support to several shelters and sanctuaries in the US in addition to providing vaccination and spay/neuter clinics in Montgomery County, TX. Our current mission is TNR - Trap-Neuter-Return - of the estimated 18,000 feral and community cats in the County. Since the launch of this TNR program in 2013 and with the help of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, Dr. Todd Hayden and Dr. Corey Hill-Hayden of Rayford Animal Wellness Center, and the staff at Texas Litter Control, we have sterilized and vaccinated nearly 6,000 cats.
While we appreciate every donation to our fund, please don’t limit your interest. Visit your local animal shelter. Volunteer to walk dogs, bathe animals or help in the front office. Donate toys, blankets, towels, puppy and kitten food – you can be sure that your local shelter will appreciate anything and everything you can do.
Foster a homeless animal from your local shelter. Show a frightened dog that people can be kind. Take in an orphaned litter of kittens. From March until October shelters are overflowing with unwanted puppies and kittens.
Educate people about the importance of spaying and neutering ALL dogs and cats. Allowing unwanted animals to be born into the world is cruel and heartless.
